Canada Day is just around the corner! This special year, we celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday. With such a significant holiday comes plenty of fun for Canadians everywhere. Fireworks. You can’t miss the main event! At 9:45 pm, enjoy the most classic display of annual Canadian patriotism – the fireworks show! Bring the whole family to watch the heavens light up in a display of beautiful colours.


Concert. If you love a good choral performance, you’ll enjoy this Canada Day special. The Cellar Singers of Muskoka and Simcoe will perform at Pinegrove Fellowship Church on Canada Day from 4:00 to 5:30 pm.


Opera. There’s more than one performance event in Muskoka this Canada Day! Gravenhurst Opera House will be presenting an All-Canadian lineup during the summer of 2017 to celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary. On Canada Day, they’ll be showing Old Wives Tales, a comedy. Tickets are $40 and students receive a discount.


Georgian Bay National Park. To celebrate Canada’s 150th , all Canadian National Parks visitors get free passes! This offer is open even to non-citizens. Be sure to order your pass online before you go and you’ll be set for days of free fun! Georgian Bay Island National Park near Muskoka is a great place to explore nature on Canada Day. You can visit this national park while you’re in town and make your trip an adventure! Rent a bike here and take it though the trails, head to the beach or hunt down some geocaches. Enjoy Canada’s great outdoors on Canada Day!


Bethune Memorial House National Historic Site. Love Canadian history? This historic museum is also free with your Canada 150 Parks Pass! Learn about the life and legacy of Dr. Henry Norman Bethune, a local and international hero.


Free Pancake Breakfast. The only socially acceptable way to begin Canada Day is with something involving maple syrup. Make a morning of it and come out to the free Muskoka pancake breakfast!
